Terms and Conditions

1. WHEN IS A CONTRACT BETWEEN YOU AND IFIL ESTABLISHED
By the receipt of an electronic, written or spoken booking and by our confirmation a contract is established between you and IFIL. These terms of contract are integral part of this contract.

2. PAYMENT
10 days after receipt of the confirmation the first payment of 500.- CHF is due.
The remaining amount is to be paid no later than 40 days after receipt of the confirmation.

The bank account details will be sent to you shortly after the confirmation. If you have difficulties sticking to these deadlines, please contact us immediately. We expressly reserve ourselves the right to cancel your booking if the above mentioned deadlines are not respected.

3. ANNULMENT OF THE BOOKING
The booking can be annulled by the participant without giving reasons until 40 days before the trip starts. In this case, the amount the participant paid minus CHF 500.- will be repaid. If a flight was part of the offer IFIL reserves the right to additionally retain the amount that arose due to the cancellation of the flight.
If you find someone to take your place under the same conditions, the full amount including the 500.- will be repaid.
If a booking is annulled less than 40 days before the trip then no refund is possible and the entire amount is due. Possible exceptions to this are cases of hardship, such as an accident or death of family members or the traveller. Such an event has to be confirmed by a medical certificate or other official document.
There is however no legal entitlement to a refund, it is at IFIL’s discretion to decide over a possible refund in such a case.

IFIL strongly recommends you to conclude a travel insurance which will cover the costs in case of annulment.

4. ANNULMENT DUE TO FORCE MAJEURE
In cases of force majeure, such as political unrest, catastrophes, etc., an annulment by IFIL due to security reasons can take place on short term. In these cases, the whole costs minus CHF 400.- will be repaid.

5. CHANGE OF FEE
IFIL may increase the fee in the following cases:

  • Increase of costs for transport (e.g. fuel surcharges)
  • Newly introduced or increased taxes (e.g. VAT, airport taxes)
  • Change of exchange rate

Such an increase may not exceed 10% of the original amount due.

6. PROGRAM
The program published on the website www.ifil.ch is valid without engagement. Changes to the program may occur on short term if necessitated by the circumstances.

7. INDEMNITIES AND LIABILITY OF IFIL
IFIL does not assume any liability for damages or harms occurring during the trip.
Insurance is the participant’s own responsibility.

8. ENTRY TO THE COUNTRY
You as a participant are solely responsible for all necessary preparations (passport, visa, vaccinations, etc) to enter the destination.

9. COURT OF JURISDICTION
In relations between you and IFIL exclusively Swiss jurisdiction is applicable.
Claims against IFIL can only be made at the place of its headquarters in Bern, Switzerland.
